Celestial Ball Chair

Amanda Bonnell

Amanda Bonnell, owner and President of Belle Vie Bridal Couture and Vera Wang Chicago, knows a thing or two about heavenly bodies. The Winnetka resident’s first love as a young girl was astronomy, complete with childhood dreams of being an astronaut. But as she grew, her second love of fashion took over, eventually leading her to virtually command Oak Street in the bridal gown trade, dressing the city’s most fabulously betrothed.

Bonnell serves as the chair of this year’s Celestial Ball, held at the Adler on the evening of September 10. “Chairing the ball is my way of giving back to an institution that I truly believe in,” explains Bonnell.
Bonnell promises an evening of elegance and intrigue. Entitled “Supernova” after the phenomena of an exploding star, the black-tie fund-raiser includes a heavy-hitting live and silent auction, luxury raffle, and sumptuous dinner.

While the opportunity to dance at the Celestial Ball against the backdrop of Chicago’s glittering skyline may be nothing new this year, the people who will be delivering the music are. The beloved group, Mel Ball and Colours, famous for their gig as President Obama’s Inaugural Ball band.

Corporate Honoree
