Gia, the youngest member of the famed Coppola Clan becomes a bona-fide style icon.
The 24-year-old model, photographer and director is finding her niche in the family business, having already directed films for Zac Posen, Wren and Opening Ceremony.
Her most recent project is a playful piece promoting the DVF ♥ CURRENT/ELLIOTT collaboration and depicts an aspiring Hollywood screenwriter looking for inspiration. “Writer’s Block” tells a story that has nothing to do with fashion but in which everyone is wearing really, really cute clothes.
Tracy Antonopolous stars as a struggling screenwriter in the ’60s-inspired short, plays Philomena Geronimo Junior (otherwise knows as Jane). Tracy previously teamed up with Gia to make a film for equally edgy label Opening Ceremony.
Aubrey Plaza’s deadpan voice narrates her quirky, colorful journey that recalls classic ’60s film more than it does Sofia Coppola’s work.
The music at the end, is scored by Robert Schwartzman, Coppola’s cousin (and Jason’s brother).
Watch the video to find out how Jane gets her creative juices flowing and impresses the producer played by Goodfellas star Ray Liotta.
Since you’re going to want to buy the vintage-inspired and very cute clothes They’re available at Bloomingdales, Bergdorf Goodman, Holt Renfrew, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Shopbop, DVF stores and DVF.COM.
Gia‘s been a favorite model and muse for years for companies such as APC and LA-based Whetherly, a new label from Citizens of Humanity alumna Leila Nasseri.
As for her own style, the California native usually eschews trends for the anonymity of basics, but admits she adored the Proenza Schouler and Rodarte shows, has a weakness for all things Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Lanvin, and would love to raid the closets of friends and fellow fashionphiles Tracy Antonopoulos and Nathalie Love.
