RHONY has wrapped its fourth season, rumors are spreading that Jill Zarin is contemplating leaving the show
The Huffington Post is reporting Jill and her husband Bobby Zarin were dining at Savanna‘s in Southampton when he was overheard telling Jill she should not return for another season of The Real Housewives of New York.
“Bobby made it clear that it was Jill’s decision but couldn’t understand what she would have to gain from returning to a fifth season,” a friend who sat at the next table to the Zarins reveals. “Her daughter, Ally Shapiro is in college and it’s time to take her parents on the cruise of a lifetime they have always wanted to do.”
Since the series began airing in 2008, Zarin has expanded beyond the family business, Zarin Fabrics. According to the statement, the Jill Zarin Home Collection of bedding is available at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Her successful ventures are a full-time job. Jill‘s Skweez Couture was picked up by major department stores during market week.
She has also made guest appearances on other shows, including USA Network’s White Collar, and Animal Planet’s It’s Me or the Dog — both episodes performed well in the ratings.
The “source” who managed to conveniently plug Jill’s Skweez line, also reveals that Jill, who earns $265,000 a season, doesn’t need the money and wants to leave the show on a high note.
“The ‘New York’ show has been super successful but next season will never top the numbers they have now and after the failures of D.C. and Miami shows, everyone thinks the high point of the franchise is behind them not in front of them,” a Bravo insider reveals. “Everything has to come to an end. And the Reunion show Part 2 ratings were very disappointing.”
Jill is now reportedly hoping to be released from her Bravo contract which she has 2 more years on. A spokesperson for Jill did confirm that she was at the Southampton restaurant with her husband but declined to comment on whether Jill had made any decision about her future with the show.
When The Hollywood Reporter asked about the article’s statement that Zarin wanted out of her two-year contract with Bravo, her manager, Darren Bettencourt of The Representatives in New York City, says the housewife is “unable to comment on the details of her contract.” He did send us a statement that somewhat addresses the chatter.
The RHONY Housewives are set to find out this week if they were being returning to Bravo for another season.
Jill Zarin was born on November 30, 1963 in Woodmere, New York. Jill is married to Bobby Zarin, who owns Zarin Fabric Warehouse and Home Furnishings, a home furnishing and fabric store on Manhattan‘s Lower East Side started by his father. Zarin, who attended Simmons College, does marketing for her husband’s store and holds a real estate license.
