An evening of singing and comedy with Golden Globe and Tony award-nominated performer Lainie Kazan benefiting the fight against HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada
October 26, 2011
Las Vegas NV
An Evening of Cabaret is a new event and production created to benefit AFAN by longtime supporters and philanthropists, Glenn Alai and Emily Jillette. It is a red carpet style event for you to enjoy an evening of great entertainment. This is the third year they have produced this event. We are honored to have this event and are looking forward for it to grow year after year.
Kazan is probably best known for her supporting roles in the comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding and the tear-jerking drama Beaches, but the singer/actress has also garnered praise for her starring role in Broadway’s My Favorite Year. That role earned Kazan a Tony nomination, and she has gone on to star in other Broadway hits.
Founded in 1984, Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) is the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in the state of Nevada. Over three thousand men, women and children infected with HIV are registered as clients with our agency. AFAN provides direct client service programs, food programs, prevention and education programs, and community outreach. It is the mission of our client service programs to enhance the physical health and psychosocial wellness of the individuals we serve, while promoting their dignity and improving the quality of their lives.
AFAN is committed to a system that nurtures personal growth and dignity of persons served, which is emphasized during orientation, ongoing staff trainings and the culture of our organization.
