July 30 – August 13, 2011

The weekend of July 30th will see teams from East Hampton and Bridgehampton compete at the Sportime in Amagansett. The Finals Day Events, which will include match play, viewing & lunch, will take place on August 13th at The Hornig’s home in Water Mill. The Dinner of Champions will take place on the 13th, as well, starting at 7pm.

The Concept

Team Tennis Charity Championship

Hamptons vs Hamptons is a Team Tennis Charity Championship between four towns (Westhampton, Southampton, Bridgehampton and East Hampton) in the Hamptons during Summer 2011 to benefit the Arthur Ashe Learning Center and Group for the East End.

Open Championship

The Team Tennis Charity Championship will consist of 5 singles and 2 doubles.

Each team will have 5-9 players [Men/Women] plus a captain who will each need to be at least a 4.0 ranking or above to participate.

The Captain will be in charge of setting up his/her own team with the singles and doubles players in the order of their choice.

Join Hosts Joan & George Hornig for a special celebration dinner honoring the winners & the organizations involved in the Hamptons VS Hamptons Team Tennis Charity Championship.

The Arthur Ashe Learning Center

Is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing a unique resource to help promote the legacy and values embodied in the life and work of Arthur Ashe as a conscience leader, humanitarian, educator and athlete.

While building and maintaining www.ArthurAshe.org, an online, all things Arthur Ashe archive, we also use his values as a rubric to create and disseminate educational materials to schools and community youth programs engaging the topics of service, leadership, literacy, health and wellness.

Group For East End

Protects and restores the environment of eastern Long Island, New York through education, citizen action and professional advocacy.

We inspire people to embrace a conservation ethic. The organization was founded in 1972 as Group for America’s South Fork, broadening its geographical reach in 2007 to include Riverhead and Southold towns.
