With roots dating back to 1864, Girls Inc. has provided vital educational programs to millions of girls, particularly those in high-risk, underserved communities. Today, innovative programs help girls confront subtle societal messages about their value and potential and prepare them to lead successful, independent and fulfilling lives.
MenzFit is a 501(c) (3) educational non–profit organization whose mission is ensuring long–term gainful employment and financial fitness to low–income men who are largely minority with little formal education. members. This is achieved by providing professional interview clothing, career development and financial literacy services. By providing these services we make a greater impact in the lives of the men we serve, as they will be able to support themselves and provide for their families.
MenzFit began in March 2001 to address the employment needs of low–income men. MenzFit has helped more than 3,000 men compete for jobs (60 percent remain employed). MenzFit’s interventions increase employment outcomes during the initial interview process as well as after our clients have begun working. By providing an ongoing spectrum of services, we increase our clients’ chances to achieve self–sufficiency.
