Jack Manigault was reportedly shot in the head by the ex boyfriend of his current girlfriend.
Jack Manigault was killed about 1:53 a.m. Sunday at his East Avondale Avenue home.
Tragedy has struck “Apprentice” star Omarosa Manigault and her family. Her older brother Jack, 40, was shot and killed on the South Side of Youngstown, OH on Sunday (Oct. 9),
The police are describing it as a deadly lovers’ quarrel. Manigault was home with his 34-year-old girlfriend when the woman’s ex-boyfriend, Marco Cardenas, 22, forced his way into the house and into the room where Manigault and the woman were sleeping.
Several shots were fired, the paper says, including a fatal wound to Manigault‘s head. His girlfriend reportedly told police that Cardenas hit her in the head with the gun and tried to shoot Manigault again before two juveniles, who were also in the house, forced him out.
Cardenas was arrested a short time later by Youngstown police. While still armed, he declared he would not go to jail but was arrested without further incident.
According to Mahoning County court records, Cardenas is not even halfway through a two-year probation handed down by Judge Maureen Sweeney of Youngstown Municipal Court in December 2010 for felony breaking and entering. His current arrest in Manigault’s murder could mean an automatic one-year prison term on the previous charge.
He also was previously convicted in Youngstown Municipal Court of misdemeanor disorderly conduct in 2008.
Manigault also had a history with the law. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in 1999 for aggravated assault, Vindy.com reports. He was also convicted of obstructing official business in 2003, and was arrested on charges of drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon and illegal possession of a weapon.
Omarosa released a statement via her Washington, DC publicist, saying her brother had changed his ways.
“We thank everyone for their amazing outpouring of support surrounding the tragic death of my brother Jack. My brother was so special to us! We loved him unconditionally and we were so proud of him when he turned his life around and gave his life to God two years ago. Right now it is an extremely difficult time and we ask that you allow family privacy to grieve and make all necessary arrangements.”
Omarosa rose to fame after appearing on Donald Trump‘s The Apprentice. She has appeared in Fear Factor, Surreal Life and Ultimate Merger.
