‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ $20M mansion owned by Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd was under renovation.
Los Angeles firefighters battled a blaze Friday, June 29th at the former home of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd, who reportedly sold the estate in September for nearly $20 million. The mansion, which was under renovation
More than 100 firefighters from both Los Angeles and Beverly Hills attacked the flames, which burned through part of the roof and left one firefighter in serious but stable condition after a beam fell on his head.
“I feel sorry for the new owners,” Lisa told NBC4 News. “I mean, they paid a lot of money for it, let’s be honest, and now I don’t know.”
Lisa and Ken sold the house to move to a smaller property, she admitted that she was pretty shook up about the incident: “I’m shocked, really,” she said in a TV interview. “It’s been an incredible journey coming to America and living there. My daughter got married in that house, so I’m pretty emotional about it even though I sold it a few months ago.”
While she’s sad to see the house damaged, Lisa‘s more concerned with the injured firefighter.
“Possessions, houses, they can be replaced, you know” she told the station. “My heart goes out to the firefighter that was injured,” Lisa said, adding that she chose not to watch the footage of the fire.
Firefighters extinguished most of the flames about ninety minutes after it was reported. “KNOCKDOWN: Over 100 FF in just over 1 hour. No injury,” Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erick Scott posted in an alert. Scott reported the injured firefighter about 40 minutes later.
Although Vanderpump and her family no longer reside in the house, TMZ reports the wives and crew of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” had to be evacuated from the neighboring house, belonging to cast member Adrienne Maloof and Dr. Paul Nassif, stopping production for the day.
“At home with the family and smelled smoke,” Paul tweeted. “The house across the street from us is on fire. All of us here are OK!”
Nassif later thanked people for their concern. “It looks to have been just the interior of the house and the BHFD has gotten it under control.
