A Few Words From Sip With Socialites Jessica Tavares
I would like to thank everyone for attending Sip with Socialites Cocktail Hour to benefit Becky’s Fund.
This event was held on Thursday, October 25th at Tony and Joe’s in Georgetown. We were able to raise enough funds for a mother and her 3 boys to begin their journey into healing and hope. We raised enough funds to restore her donated vehicle.
This successful evening would have not been possible without everyone’s contribution. Beginning with the Tony & Joe’s Seafood Restaurant and staff, volunteers,

About Becky’s Fund
Becky’s Fund is a non-profit organization founded by Becky Lee headquartered in Washington, D.C. The organization serves victims of domestic violence and abuse.
Becky’s Fund was started in November 2006 and subsequently achieved Non-profit status in March 2007. As a college student, founder Becky Lee saw first hand the effects of domestic abuse through her work with criminal law attorneys who specialized in acquitting battered women that had been imprisoned for killing their abusers in self-defense. Through the stories of these women, she was inspired to embark on a career of her own in exposing and preventing domestic abuse. She competed on “Survivor: Cook Islands” hoping to use her exposure as a platform to draw national attention to the issue. She was second runner-up on the competitive show and used her entire prize winnings to fund a domestic violence awareness non-profit, Becky’s Fund. In addition, she aims to raise awareness to the lack of reporting of domestic violence cases in the Asian community. DONATE

Once again, thank you for raising your glass to help put a stop to domestic violence in community. We’ll see you next month. Erin Lyon‘s is November’s Event Chair.
