I’m a partner in an IT Firm (Zyedge, LLC) located in Reston, VA. I’ve been in the tech industry for over 15 years and am certified by multiple vendors (Microsoft, VMware, EMC, Juniper) with a Cisco CCIE #24360 (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) Certification.
What is your current favorite gizmo, gadget or app?
Since we deal with such tremendous traffic every day in this area, I would recommend Waze. Waze is the world’s fastest-growing community-based traffic and navigation app. Drivers can be alerted of real-time traffic and road info, speed camera’s, disabled vehicles and many other updates, thus saving everyone time and gas money on their daily commute.
Why do you find it so awesome?
Waze has a large user base, up to the second traffic reports, user updatable maps, route learning and a ranking system. Now even driving can be competitive.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I skydive, used to race motorcycles, back country snowboard, and generally love new and challenging activities. An avid golfer, I like to continually challenge myself within this sport as well
The CCIE is described by Cisco as, “The most prestigious networking certification in the industry.” The CCIE certifies a very specific set of skills in the field of networking. According to Cisco, less than 3% of Cisco Certified engineers obtain CCIE certification and less than 1% of the networking professionals worldwide. Passing all the requirements of the program earns the individual a unique CCIE number assigned by Cisco. In other words, Ryan is a member of an uber exclusive club that most of us wouldn’t be able to get into.
