GI Film Festival 2014 Heroes Then & Now With Actor Adam Driver

Hollywood has come to DC for Memorial Day Weekend for GIFF14.

Join US Marine and actor Adam Driver (2014 GIFF Veterans in Entertainment award winner) as we screen short films from heroes of WW2 and Korea followed by the Best of Festival awards and a special tribute to NBC Universal’s film Lone Survivor. After party to be held at the United States Patent and Trademark Office Museum.

While the raising of the American flag during the Battle of Iwo Jima has become one of the most iconic and powerful symbols in American History the true story of a flag raising that proceeded that event immortalized in bronze has not officially recognized by the US Marine Corps. After decades of controversy, filmmaker Dustin Spence’s interviews and research provide the basis for the definitive account of who was really there, pitting him against years of misinformation.
