Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eye Shadow

Who loves it:

Erin

What is it:

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eye Shadow (#2 Lust Red and #3 Purpura are my favorite shades from the line)

When did you first try it?

I have loved this eye shadow formula since it launched in 2011 and Armani continues to come out with new shades each season. My friend is a professional make-up artist and recommended that I try this formulation, since I always complain that my smoky eye never lasts the night because I have hooded eyelids, so most products tend to crease over the course of the night.

Where can you get it:

Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom, or online www.giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com

Price:

$33

Why:

I love a dramatic eye, but most shadows tend to crease, as I have both hooded and oily eyelids… Eyes To Kill Intense to the rescue! I must admit that I was initially skeptical by the claim that the shadow would wear all day without creasing or fading (could these really stand up to DC August humidity?), but these shadows have a smooth — not quite a powder, not quite a cream — texture that lasts and lasts. The color is intense and can be applied wet or dry, as a base or over a base color, and it blends well with your other products.

TIP:

The versatility of these little pots of shadow is remarkable. My favorite smoky look is to apply a generous amount of the product– wet –along the lash line to intensify the thickening effect of your mascara. Then, I go back in with more of the product– this time dry –and blend upwards into the crease, applying the product a little bit more generously in the outer V to create a “lifted” smoky look. Add a nude lip and you will have an intense, sultry look à la Carine Roitfeld that will take you into the wee hours of the morning.

Try it and let us know what you think!
