If traveling is your passion, we can totally relate!
Whether it’s Paris to Singapore or New York to Moscow, we’ve been there and done it! Ashley Boalch, Erin Lyons, Tahera Zamanzada and their friends will recommend the best a city has to offer.
Playa Negra, Costa Rica
Playa Negra is a world-class surfing beach located on the Pacific Coast of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. While surfers come from all around the world to ride the waves, it has something for everyone with great beaches, delicious food and a laid-back atmosphere.
Who loves it:
Hotel Villa DeVeena
This elegant hotel has 6 individual rooms with thatched roofs, and each room faces a beautiful salt water swimming pool surrounded by lush tropical landscape. Michael and I instantly felt relaxed when we arrived and were greeted with a delicious cocktail. For the rest our romantic getaway, our days consisted of walking to Playa Negra and enjoying the rich Costa Rican culture. Villa DeVeena www.villadeevena.com Los Pargos, Costa Rica +506 2653 2328
Featured Spa & Salon:
Michael and I had a private massage in our room by a husband-wife team, Francis and Luis. While it was only $50 per person for a complete hour, it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had.
Hotel DeVeena offers delicious French cuisine; we enjoyed an amazing four course meal on the night of Christmas Eve, and an even better brunch the following morning. Another great local restaurant is Café Playa Negra – Michael and I especially loved the seafood paella! Café Playa Negra www.cafeplayanegra.com Guanacaste, Costa Rica +506 2652 9351
If you are looking for high-end shopping, you won’t find it in Playa Negra. It is not very touristy; rather, it gives you an authentic Costa Rican experience. For picking up souvenirs and buying American food, Tamarindo Beach is about an hour away.
Featured Nightclub or Lounge
I love to party, so one of the first things I asked about was where we can go to shake our groove thangs. You can imagine my shock when I was told there is no nightclub around. Even better, however, was Lola’s at Playa Avellanas, which is about 10 minutes away. It’s where all the cute surfers go after a day in the water to drink Lola’s Mojitos and dance to Bob Marley. One must try the zipline canopy tour to see the beautiful landscape of Costa Rica! The best one is Pura Aventura about 20 minute away from Playa Negra. Pura Aventura www.canopypuraaventura.com 160, Costa Rica +506 2658 0781
