Spectators gathered on The Ellipse Polo Fields to raise money to supply access to affordable fitness for the underserved community of people living with paralysis.

On Saturday, May 18th Care Code Inc. hosted their Charity Polo Tournament featuring celebrity player John Walsh of ‘America’s Most Wanted,’ top US polo pro Charlie Muldoon and special guest Ashley Van Metre of Van Metre Homes.

Patrons enjoyed a champagne reception, delicious catered dinner with open bar of beer and wine, a spring fashion show featuring local designer Elizabeth St. John Couture, Union of Angels by Cindy Bapst and StyleRide the hot unique boutique On wheels.

Wil “Onix” Lash of ‘DC Hot Spots‘ on DC50 TV, VH1’s ‘I Love Money’ and ‘I Love New York‘ emceed the event and fashion show. The VIP models included Sip With SocialitesJana Sedlakova, Bravo‘s Real Housewives of DC Mary Amons, the founder of Nice Shoes No Drama Leigh Macdonald, the founder of Ladies America Lindsey Mask, Jen Harlow, Danni Starr of The Kane Show 99.5, & Kara Monas of Politics of Pretty to name just a few. Guest were treated to live music from ‘Blame It On Jane‘ and live auction of outfits featured in fashion show, jewelry, and vacation getaways.

Eveny Chair Shannon Grey, explained her involvement: “My husband, Billy, was injured in a swimming pool accident and has been a quadriplegic ever since. He has lived his life in a remarkable fashion and has never let his injury keep him down. He is now a father to my 14 year old, helps coach her softball team, treats me like a queen, as I am his caregiver and he knows how difficult our day to day life is and is the strongest man on know when it comes to dealing with challenges in life.”

The money raised for Care Code will ensure that, “we will be able to open a Next Step fitness facility which will allow individuals like my husband and our good friend Freddie Hetzel to exercise on a regular basis, giving them the hope to live longer, healthier lives. This facility will also help Wounded Warriors, patients suffering with TBI, strokes, cancer, MS and many other diseases/illnesses.”
